Idols..enough said

 Leviticus 26:1 ESV
“You shall not make idols for yourselves or erect an image or pillar, and you shall not set up a figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 26:30 ESV
And I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars and cast your dead bodies upon the dead bodies of your idols, and my soul will abhor you.

Leviticus 19:4 ESV
Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves any gods of cast metal: I am the Lord your God.

 2 Kings 17:12 ESV
And they served idols, of which the Lord had said to them, “You shall not do this.”

Next time you turn on your TV, listen to the radio, pay to see a movie or go to a concert. You think about the above and what God said about idols. Then think about who those that you pay to watch or listen to, who do they praise, what do they praise,who do they defy and who made them "idols". Then read the following verse and REALLY think on those words, think about what your idols have recently said about God and where they are leading you.

Zechariah 10:2 NIV
The idols speak deceit,diviners see visions that lie; they tell dreams that are false, they give comfort in vain, Therefore the people wonder like sheep oppressed for lack of a shepherd.

Sundays Comfort..

For comfort I turn to - 2 Timothy -3:1-9

3: Mark this: There will be terrible times when in the last days.

People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedident to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiven, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God - Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed  by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth-men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

It comforts me, because, I know its Gods will, it is written. What is happening, what is being said and done, is all as planned. Its the road to Jesus coming back to rapture his church up with him, believe in him, who love him, who have lived their life waiting for him.
